The Shebele river that flows across more than four woredas in the Somali region is one of the rivers that have 15 different species of fish in its ponds.
At present, fish is being produced in the region and is being distributed for food in a different way than other types of food. Earlier, it is not common in the region, but recent, the sector is not only about eating fish but also creating job opportunity by producing fish, it is giving to the community by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Development Directorate. Mr. Hussein Abegaz gave a speech at the opening of the training.
In addition to the capacity building training, a ten year leader plan to increase the country’s fish productivity, a wide discussion on the problems and solutions faced by associations and professionals in the sector. A training that has been given on how to feed and eat fish was given.
Finally, the associations that are established in the sector visited the activities that are carried out from fish to eating around the Shebele river.
